Booking
Terms & conditions
These terms apply to every Model K9 program, workshop, and event booking, including the Fast Track Training Program™. By reserving or purchasing a space, you agree to them.
Conduct
Model K9 is a working environment for dogs and the people handling them, so we ask everyone who registers to be answerable for how they and their dog show up. Our team decides what counts as conduct that puts a session off track. Examples we have had to act on include:
- Interfering with another handler, their dog, or a trainer at work.
- Declining to follow a staff direction given to keep people and dogs safe in the room.
- Going into training space, buildings, or restricted areas that a staff member has not opened to you.
Where conduct or a dog’s behavior makes a participant’s continued presence unworkable, we will end their participation. Fees already paid are not returned in that situation.
Payment, cancellations, and refunds
Payment
We take card only — Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. There is no invoicing, check, or cash option.
If you are coming without a dog
- Change your mind within 24 hours of booking and the fee comes back in full.
- After that first day, and with at least 30 days still to go before the course begins, half the fee is refunded and 10% of it is kept to cover processing.
- Inside 30 days of the start date, or if you do not arrive, there is no refund.
- Places cannot be moved to a later date or handed to someone else.
- Money goes back to the card you paid with.
- Allow one to two billing cycles for the credit to show up on your statement.
If your dog is coming with you
- The same 24-hour window applies from the moment you book.
- If we cannot approve your dog, we email you. From the time that email is sent you have 24 hours to withdraw and have the registration fee returned in full. If you say nothing in that time, your place stands and you attend as a handler without a dog, under the cancellation terms above.
- After 24 hours and up to 30 days before the start, half the fee comes back less a 10% processing charge.
- Cancellations inside 30 days of the start, and absences on the day, are not refundable.
- Transferring your place to another date or person is not available.
- Refunds go back to the card used at checkout.
- Expect one to two billing cycles before it appears on your statement.
If we have to cancel
We may call off a program at any point — too few people signed up, weather, illness, a venue problem, or anything else outside our control.
Where that happens, we return what you paid us. That refund settles the booking in full and closes out our responsibility for it.
Our liability stops at the program fee. It does not reach travel and trip costs you have already committed to — non-refundable flights, visa fees, hotel nights, insurance premiums, or similar.
If you are travelling to attend, a cancellation policy that covers the course fee is worth having.
Bringing your dog
- We must approve your dog before they take part.
- Once approved, care, supervision, and behavior stay your responsibility throughout.
- Your dog should be neutered or spayed. Dogs under 10 months are the exception we may make.
- A dog in season cannot attend our events or training space.
- Dogs who are not on the course cannot be dropped off, boarded, or brought along at the training space.
- Service dogs are welcome with their documentation in order, and approval is still required.
- Dogs with a history of aggression, or with behavioral issues we have told you we cannot take on, are not eligible.
- If information you give us about your dog turns out not to be accurate, participation ends and no fee is returned.
- Vet paperwork that has not reached us by the deadline means your dog cannot come to the training space, whatever the reason.
